Myriam Boulos
Myriam Boulos was born on 1992 and she started her photography career at 16 with looking around her surroundings of where she lived. Myraim was in national and international collective exhibitions. The collective exhibitions she took place in where places like Amsterdam, Paris, and Beirut exhibits. Boulos photos are a voice for her and thats what she loves about photography so much. All the images that I've seen show a sense of the individuals story.
Boulos quote "I obsess about things and I don't know how to deal with these obsessions in any other way both through photography" explains on her interpretation when taking her photos. Boulos images are images that tell different stories or different people. It's showing the individuals personality and it can give people viewing the picture to feel different emotions. The topics that Boulos seems to discuss are more of a dark and serious issues. With capturing a dark and serious issue with the individuals story it gives the photo a captivating perspective.
The images that seemed like they had their own topic to discuss like some pictures do focus on the same topic but in most it's very distinctive. The topics that are discussed involves mental health, identities, gender roles, and beauty standards. There are images that depict very well on the emotion or perceives the topic well. Its a talent to be able to give a voice about such issues through images and Boulos does that very well. The following images show different types of breaking standards or expressing those whose identities aren't able to express to society.
